War in Eurasia 2011 ? Adbusters and The Economist
Posted by Terry Boardman on Jul 2, 2012 in east west issues | 0 commentsThis essay is about a couple of articles that appeared recently (May) in Adbusters magazine, and their relation to something that appeared in The Economist in Dec. 1992
“Adbusters Media Foundation is a not-for-profit, anti-consumerist organization founded in 1989 by Kalle Lasn and Bill Schmalz in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The foundation describes itself as “a global network of artists, activists, writers, pranksters, students, educators and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of the information age.”The foundation publishes the reader-supported Adbusters, an activist magazine with a circulation of 120,000 devoted to numerous political and social causes, many of which are anti-consumerist in nature. The magazine has been called “the flagship publication of the culture jamming movement”. Adbusters’ ‘brand’ of culture jamming has its roots in the activities of the situationists (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Situationists – (originally a European, intellectual, neo-Marxist surrealist movement – Terry) and in particular their concept of détournement. This involves the “turning around” of received messages so that they communicate meanings at variance with their original intention.”

Adbusters is on sale at W H Smiths, Britain’s largest national chain of stationery, confectionary, news, mags, books etc. The May/June 2010 issue (#89 Vol. 18 Number 3) was called the Eco-psychology issue (see cover).
It included an article that featured part of a speech purportedly by ‘Osama bin Laden’ (released on 17 Feb 2010) titled “The Way to Save The Earth” and presented ecological arguments from his perspective. At the end of the article was a reference to its original location at www.nefafoundation.org. where the full text can be found: http://www.nefafoundation.org/miscellaneous/nefa_ublwaytosaveearth0210.pdf God is mentioned only twice in the 3 page article, but 10 times in the full text.
On the Nefa Foundation website you find:
This document is the transcript of a communiqué released by Al-Qaida’s official As-Sahab Media Wing. It was obtained by NEFA investigators on behalf of the NEFA TerrorWatch subscription service. The As-Sahab Media Foundation is the officialpropaganda arm of Al-Qaida and is the exclusive source of audio and video recordings of Bin Laden, Dr. Ayman al-Zaw other high-ranking Al-Qaida leaders in South Asia. This transcript is provided for educational and informational purposes only
If you go to the nefafoundation website, you’ll see it claims to be:
“a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt, charitable organization created after the attacks of September 11, 2001. NEFA’s mission is to expose the organizations and individuals who plan, fund, and commit acts of terrorism in order to help the counter-terrorism community prevent future attacks in America and abroad.”
(for the main individuals involved, see: http://www1.nefafoundation.org/aboutus.html)
Its head office is at 230 Park Avenue, Suite 1000, New York, NY. Nefa supposedly is an acronym that stands for ‘Nine Eleven Finding Answers Foundation’.
The article by ‘bin Laden’ is clearly an attack on the ideological base of capitalism. In the Adbusters magazine it is preceded by another, supposedly written by one Micah White, titled: Is a Holy War against the Five-Planet Lifestyles of the West Justified? (see pic below) It carries a photo of Osama Bin Laden. This too refers to the speech by Osama bin Laden, the full text of which can be read at the Nefa Foundation website.
The article by Micah White argues that bin Laden’s environmental ‘clarion call’ offers new hope to a demoralised ecological movement post-Copenhagen. ‘Bin Laden’ – who the article admits may actually be either dead or a creation of the CIA, with “a political biography eerily reminiscent of Emmanuel Goldstein from George Orwell’s “1984″ - declares climate change to be a fact (though many increasingly regard it to be a scam and a fraud) and something that can unite us beyond divisive arguments over Palestine and democracy in the Middle East. It includes the following paragraph:
“There seem to be two possible scenarios that that could prevent civilisation’s collapse. One is that we continue the scientific-materialist project: Embrace geo-engineering wholeheartedly and hope that an entirely unnatrual synthetic world can save us. The other possibility – and the one that seems increasingly likely – is that a charismatic member of the mujahideen will arise to deliver a challenge that resonates with the materially poor and the spiritually wealthy of every nation of the world. And when that happens, we will look back on the day we were first exposed to bin Laden’s environmental plea and know that it was the beginning of a new era of solidarity between those who have rejected consumerism and the five billion others who never had a choice.” (emphasis – Terry)
This is clearly an example of confrontation between the two forces of extremism that threaten healthy human development, which we can characterise as the western urban machinist and the eastern rural tribesman. No third option, no middle way is offered in this Adbusters text by Micah White.
There are 5 sections (and no page numbers) in this issue of Adbusters: denial – anger – bargaining – depression – acceptance
Immediately before section 3, so still in section 2 (Anger), there is a double page painting called Flood (Red Sea) (2006) by Barnaby Furnas. It consists of a mess of red, sprayed or painted, on a blue canvas, the red all but obliterating the blue. The title suggests a red sea of blood. Immediately before this painting is a single page extract of an incomplete newspaper report (see pic below) titled “Iran Strikes Saudia Arabia as Oil Crisis Deepens” by Blake Sifton (a Vancouver-based journalist). The ‘date’ of this article is Sunday February 27, 2011, so it purports to be a report ‘from the near future’. In passing, note that 27 Feb is the date of the Reichstag Fire in 1933, the classic false flag attack which the Nazis manipulated in order to deceive the Reichstag into granting them dictatorial powers on 23.3 1933. 27 Feb. was also the date of Rudolf Steiner’s birthday, who had died 8 years before on 30.3.1925.
This article reports that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have attacked “vital Saudi Arabian oil infrastructure” at 3:30 am “in retaliation for Saudi Arabia granting the Israeli Airforce permission to cross its airspace en route to bombing Iranian nuclear facilities [Arak, Natanz, Isfahan] two weeks ago” (i.e. Feb 13 i.e. 2.13). The Israeli attacks “sparked the widening regional conflict”. A week before this Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia, Iran closed the Straits of Hormuz. The US Navy cleared the blockage after bombarding the coast of Iran for 3 days. The article went on to say that the world is now said to be awaiting further joint US-Israeli attacks on iran, while the price of oil has risen to almost $300 a barrel.
The article is clearly a ‘futuristic fantasy’ and a piece of ‘culture jamming’ in itself; it does not overtly claim to be a prediction.
But what is interesting about it is the way it meshes with something that appeared in that ‘out-house’ journal of the New World Order, The Economist (cf. the NWO ‘in-house’ journal, Foreign Affairs) back in December 1992 (see pic). This too (anonymous like all articles in The Economist) passed itself off as a report from the future, but in this case from the year 2992, part of a World History (Chap. 13) looking back on the “the disastrous 21st Century”. The whole piece is fascinating, and I analysed it in detail in my book “Mapping the Millennium – Behind the Plans of the New World Order” (1998), but here, just one extract from the article is relevant. It describes how, precisely in 2011 (remember, this was written in 1992, long before any whiff of al-Qaeda), a coup would occur in Saudi Arabia which would lead to the unification of the Muslim world’s forces and the creation of a new Caliphate which would then attack Turkey and ally with China. Together, the Caliphate and China would then dismember Russia east of the Urals – while Europe and America looked on.
Such a dismemberment is exactly what the Anglo-American elitists have been aiming at for decades – to drive Russia back to its 16th century boundaries as a purely European state which can then be secured within NATO and the EU, which will itself be merged in a federation with North America. A new global East-West bipolarity will be the result of these manoeuvres. That is the 21st century scenario The Economist was imagining already in 1992. The ground would thus be cleared for a colossal East-West struggle between Euro-America and China-Asia which would “dominate the 22nd and 23rd centuries”; “by 2030 a larger proportion of the world’s population was living under authoritarian rule than half a century before.”
The aim is for India to be ranged on the side of the West in this struggle, which is why the West has been positioning itself in southern and central Asia (from Afghanistan to Kyrgyzstan) so as to be in a position to aid India against China. Obviously, any war between India and China would threaten to reduce those two countries’ huge populations (totalling some 2.3 billion). The Economist article of 1992 imagines the world’s population to have fallen to
3 billion after the major centuries-long crisis it describes, though in fact, it only really discusses the 21st century and the first half of it! Elitist maniacs in the West (James Lovelock, Crispin Tickell, and others) are calmly considering and hoping for a massive reduction in the world’s population by the end of this century.
In Dec. 1912 a French astrological journal with connections to western elite circles, the Almanach de Madame de Thebes, forecast the killing of the Heir Apparent of Austria-Hungary, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, said that it was for the good of mankind that he be killed, and that Germany would stake her existence in a war that would be fatal for her. In such ways are intentions from certain hidden quarters mediated into the consciousness of the general public and signalled to the supporters of those hidden quarters. Will this issue of Adbusters turn out to be another such example?
